Join us on April 24, 2010 for a day of higher learning for the creative mind. This day of experience and education is intended for anyone interested in the arts and are looking to grow their knowledge in the field. We have invited 16 professionals to share with us the knowledge they have accumulated throughout their experiences. We will be offering multiple one hour classes in each of the following areas (see the agenda for a listing of classes and times):

Photography

In this class we will cover the basics of photography. No matter what camera you have, you should know a few things before you get started.  In my work, I have edited numerous photos and made lots of mistakes.  This class will teach you how to avoid some of the most common mistakes of photography. We will discuss framing, natural lighting versus studio lighting, posing, white balance, equipment etc. If you are passionate about taking better pictures then this workshop is for you. We will also have open discussion so bring any questions that you may have.

Show Me The Money: Art Business For Dummies

Song Writing

The song Writing workshop will be on the basics of songwriting including: poetic devices, themes, types of songs, and creative outlets. The class will be looking at songs from experienced songwriters to learn about the elements of songwriting that they use that make them great songwriters.

Creating Comics For Print Or Web

Samax Amen, a local cartoonist and illustrator will do a workshop on cartooning that covers the basics of creating a comic book for print or web.

Kids Creative by Nicole Rodriguez and Desiree' Mazzola

Designed for children ages 7-12, this class is FREE, though donations will be appreciated. The time will be spent focused on various mediums of art and providing the students time to explore and think creatively to produce original art pieces. Each student will be taught by professional teachers and artists who will teach in their own expertise. Parents must be attending workshop classes while children are in Kids Creative.

Each class is $10. This is an incredible deal considering the talent and experience that will be in the room. This is also a great opportunity to network with some of the top artists in DFW.

Directions:
1. Please review the Artist Workshop Agenda and consider which classes you would like to attend. The agenda will open in a new window so you can always have it available as you register once you have received an e-mail invite to do so. You can choose up to four classes to attend within the day. Once you have figured out your schedule you may want to write it down so your registration will move quickly.
 
2. Total the number of classes and multiply by $10 to know how much you will be paying for your classes ( Ex: 3 classes x $10 = $30). IF YOU ARE GOING TO ATTEND 4 CLASSES THEN YOUR TOTAL WILL BE AT THE DISCOUNTED ADMISSION OF $35 (This discount applies to pre-registered students). Once you know your total, select the appropriate amount within the PayPal button and complete the transaction once you have clicked on the "Pay Now" button.
 
3. After you have paid you will receive an e-mail invitation within 24 hours of your payment to register for your classes. Please follow the link within the e-mail and click the appropriate classes you would like to take. Once you have registered, a follow-up e-mail will be sent to you with your personal agenda. REGISTRATION WILL END ON THURSDAY, APRIL  22ND @ MIDNIGHT!
 
Classes begin at 9:30AM and will end at 3:30PM. There is an hour lunch break where you will be free to dine on your own or you may bring $5 for two slices of pizza and a drink. The workshop will be held at Life in Deep Ellum, 2803 Taylor St. Dallas, TX 75226. Registration for classes can be done at the location.
