Dang, I love comic books. I always have. It is something in my DNA. It occurs to me that for a comic fan, Dallas/FortWorth is a pretty fortunate place to be. Not only do we have several good comic shops in the area, but we have a thriving and active underground scene here. There's more talent here than people recognize. Lots of people are creating comics in Dallas. Our COMIC LOVE event was created to highlight some of that talent and passion for comics. ArtLoveMagic gathered about a dozen local comic creators at Titan Comics, and put on a day and night event where we welcomed people to come out and experience our world for a bit. Comic creators shared and signed their work all day, and at night we rearranged the store, brought out a DJ, set up artists to paint and draw live, and celebrated the artform we love. |

David was on another level with that painting of The Thing from the Fantastic Four. He and Samax were outside painting in the parking lot while DJ Ward spun tunes. Good stuff. Folks who came to this event really enjoyed themselves. Most everyone who showed stayed for hours and spent time talking to each artist and seeing everyone. Some folks even participated in a huge jam drawing that we did in the back of the store. That's what we try to do with our events. Don't just come and see, come and experience. Be part of it. | ||||
